Wedding FAQ

Q: Are you able to tailor packages to suit our needs?
A: Yes, just let us know what you are looking for and we will put together something to suit.

Q: Will you hold our wedding date, whilst we decide?
A: Our services work on a first in, first served basis and we have bookings made a year or more in advance. However anyone enquires about the same date, we will contact the first couple to confirm if they want to commit to the booking. In other words we try to offer you first dibs so to speak where we can.

Q: How do we book?
A: Simply complete the contact us form, we will contact you and provide you bank details to pay the $500 deposit.

Q. What is the engagement/pre-wedding shoot?
A. The engagement/pre-wedding shoot is an icebreaker. It allows us to explore the venues and discuss your specific wedding photography requirements and ideas. It is also a great opportunity for you to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Q. When do we do the pre-wedding shoot and what do we wear?
A. The pre-wedding shoot is usually done a few weeks before your wedding. However, if you would like to use those portraits for wedding invitations, then you can arrange to have that session much earlier. Try to wear clothes that compliment each other. Avoid white or striped tops; try to avoid patterned or clothing which may go out of style next year. Try to adopt the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach to getting ready.

Q: How much time should we allow for location photography?
A: The more time you spend on location photography the more variety/diversity of photography we will be able to provide you with. Traditionally 1-2 hours is the popular amount of time to allow but we have worked with as little as 30 minutes. Remember to allow for travel time as well.

Q. What happens on the wedding day?
A. A couple of weeks before your wedding, we sit down with you and go through the schedule of the day and take note of special guests who you want to have pictures with. Typically on the day we will have a photographer with the bride when getting ready and a second photographer with the groom. At the ceremony and reception we will have two photographers working on capturing the ceremony and capturing candids.

Q. What happens after the wedding?
A. We will post process the images; picking out around 300-600 images to make up your proof album. We will also pick out an assortment of images, which we think captures the essence of the day. Out of these images we will nominate photos that would be worthy to go into an album. Typically it takes around 3-4 weeks for your proofs to be available.

Q: How many photographs do you take/do we get?
A: This will depend greatly upon the day you have planned but for coverage of six to eight-hours you would normally receive 300-600 photographs. Always bear in mind however that the idea is quality not quantity and we will always look to provide as much variety as possible rather than simply capture variations of the same backdrop.

Q: How long after our wedding do we get our photos?
A: Unless special requests are made the turnaround time is four weeks.

Q. What about a photo album?
A. We can sit down and help plan out a photo album. We have a wide range of quality professional products to choose from. We believe that you are starting your heirloom with this album. It is something that captured the emotion that happened during the day. This is one of the few occasions where you get all of your family and friends together; we want you to remember this day. The album plays such an important part, it becomes the first heirloom of your new family, meanwhile the flowers have died, the food has been consumed and forgotten, but the photos are there forever. Every-time you open the album, the memories will come flooding back.

Q: Should we provide you with a meal during the reception?
A: Yes, if we are covering more than an hour of your reception then in the interest of not passing out one service meal would be appreciated.

Q. Can you tell us about some of the technical details?
A. We shoot with a mixture of Nikon and Canon Digital SLR’s, we use a range of professional series lenses and lighting. We carry out extensive backups of all images and edits done for our clients. We use a mixture of Photoshop and Aperture for performing enhancements. All of our monitors are calibrated, therefore ensuring accurate color reproduction. All our products are professionally printed to ensure the products with stand the test of time.

We hope that the above has helped. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any further questions. Congratulations once again on your engagement and enjoy the wedding preparations.
